Boots and the Seven LeaguersTitle: Boots and the Seven Leaguers
Author: Jane Yolen
Illustrator: Troy Howell
Publisher: Harcourt, Inc.
Number of Pages: 192 pages

Boots and the Seven Leaguers is a funny and exciting novel that I would recommend to kids in elementary and middle school. The language that Yolen uses is fantastic, and you just can't put the book down. It is very creative, and full of creatures so weird and mysterious you would never dream of them.

Boots and the Seven Leaguers tells the story of Gog, a teenage troll with a best friend named Pook. They are dying to see Boots and the Seven Leaguers, their favorite rock-and-troll band, perform live in their town, but they haven't got any tickets. They are left with only one choice… magic. But magic can backfire, and it certainty does when Gog's little brother Magog is kidnaped. Can Gog and Pook find Magog and still get back in time for the concert? The exciting resolution will make you laugh, wonder and rejoice all at the same time. If I were you, I would definitely read Boots and the Seven Leaguers. It's a story you'll never forget! (December, 2000)
