Do spiders fascinate you, or are you petrified of them? Whether you like them or not they are helpful to society. Their large appetite for insects helps keep the population down. If you are a spider fan, the book Do All Spiders Spin Webs? is just the book for you.

First, the book has questions about spiders, and then they give you a detailed answer, some of which I didn't know. Here are a few incredible facts about the spider. So spider fans, on your mark, get set, read! The Fisher spider feels for a vibration on the water then runs to catch the insect without getting wet because of their lightweight bodies. Did you know that a spider can molt up to thirteen times before maturing? A spider's blood is blue instead of red, and if a spider loses too much blood its legs curl up and then the spider can't walk. How strong is a spider's web? The answer is?. I can't tell you! You have to go out and read the book for yourself. There are many other cool facts.
I liked the book because it was fun and interesting; also I liked the information it gave you on how they survive, and catch their prey. Would I recommend this book? Yes, because it would help kids doing a report, or just curious about spiders. Second through fourth graders might enjoy this book, possibly even fifth or sixth graders like myself.

Be sure to check your local library for more exciting books on spiders. One I would recommend is Amazing Spiders by Alexandra Parsons, and Jerry Young. (September, 2000)
