Have you ever wondered
what the world is like and what it looks like? If you have The Children's
World Atlas you don't have to wonder anymore!!! Do you think it has
just maps without any pictures? It's not just maps - you know how boring
that sounds! At least that's what I thought B-E-F-O-R-E I read the book!!!
This book has all kinds of pictures, stories about real-life situations,
and lots of other cool facts!!! Like, did you know Canada produces 75% of
the world's maple syrup?
The Children's World Atlas has the flags from each country in the
world in the very back of the book. It also has a gazetteer. A gazetteer
is like an index, except it is specifically for maps. It is so detailed,
in fact, that you could even look up Aurora, Colorado in this world atlas!
Also, on each map page there is a little globe and it shows you what part
of the world you are looking at.
What I love about The Children's World Atlas is that it is so interesting.
It has satellite pictures of the continents and stories about what life
is like for people in different countries. It gives you some facts about
each country that kids would find interesting. It has everything you could
imagine. It doesn't miss anything. It even shows pictures of things like
adobe ovens. Did you know chewing gum is made from chicle, which is from
Mexico?
Each map has six numbers on it. They help because they tell you where to
find the map that shows the country that's next to it. Sometimes finding
the neighboring country gets confusing, but otherwise, this is just a great
book for kids.
I think kids seven and up would love this book! And if you are younger,
there are so many pictures that you could just look through the book while
your parents are reading it and they could tell you some surprising things
about the world.
The Children's Atlas .......... ......... Great .......... ..... For kids!!!...
