Little Genie Make A Wish

Miranda Jones

Publisher: Delacorte Press
Number Of Pages: 113
When everyone is young, they wish for their own genie. In this book, Ali gets her genie. When Ali and her grandmother go to a yard sale, Ali sees a lava lamp. It is an old purple, rusty one, but because her grandmother loves to collect junk, her grandmother buys it for her. After Ali takes the lamp home, she plugs it in and is surprised to see the lava whirling and swirling in the glass container. She looks closely and sees a little girl in the lamp. The next thing she knows, POOF!, the girl pops out of the lamp and comes to life size. She tells Ali that she is a genie, and every genie hour Ali can have three wishes.
This exciting book is all about Ali and her adventures in her wishes. I liked that this book is very descriptive. It tells all about the characters personalities and the settings around them. The story seemed short, but readers have a lot to look forward to because it is the first in a series. I would definitely recommend this book for ages 6-10 because it is a little easier, but still fun to read. (May, 2004)
