Title: The Kingfisher Treasury of Princess Stories
Written and illustrated: Fiona Waters
Publisher: Kingfisher
157 pages

Have you ever heard of a wrestling princess? How 'bout a princess cat! A princess who goes out to rescue a prince? Okay, this is an easy one, a princess who's scared of spiders?

If you recognize even one of these stories, you're sure a genius, but I wouldn't take my chances if I were you, you better get your hands on The Kingfisher Treasury of Princess Stories.

The princesses in all of these fabulous tales, are funny, sad, mad secretive and much more. These wonderful tales are written so well, that you are immediately the heroine yourself!

Of course, being a princess is hard work too. Take the princess who was afraid of spiders. She had just ordered her maid to get rid of them, and who gets the handsome prince??? The maid! Or take the fabulous heroine, Petronella, who was bound and determined to find the handsome prince, but she found true love (don't worry, it's not gushy) in a different person.

Even the stories you do know (The Princess and the Pea or The Twelve Dancing Princesses), have been changed by Fiona Waters herself!

The age range in this book is from about 4-12. It's a great read-aloud book for younger children, but this book is fun for everyone! In fact, there's not a single thing I'd change about this book. Fiona Waters did a great job choosing stories for this awesome collection.

The great thing about this book is it really shows the pros and cons about being a princess. It also has some of your favorite authors like: Lloyd Alexander, Jay Williams, Joan Aiken and Margaret Baker!

Now all you boys out there might be saying it's a book assembled by a girl, it's about girls, and a girl is saying it's wonderful, yep, sounds like a girl book to me! But don't get me wrong, this book is for girls and boys of ages 4-12! This book is fantastic!

So, don't wait, don't delay, make The Kingfisher Treasure of Princess Stories yours today! (February, 2002)
