Set sail with Mayflower 1620 a New Look at a Pilgrim Voyage. This AMAZING book not only has totally cool pictures but great facts about the Mayflower and her pilgrims. This book told about what the pilgrims took with them and other things that went on in the Mayflower. For example, did you know that the pilgrims took 45 tuns of beer! Even though the facts and story line was cool, I would have to say the realistic pictures were the best part! My favorite picture showed the unusual way the kids dressed for playtime.
This book was really descriptive but they used some olden day words that I had never in my life heard before and will probably never hear again. One of the really funky words I read was halyard, which means a long rope. Still, that made it really cool. I would definitely recommend this book, but only for ages 8 and up because some of the words were hard to pronounce. So may safety be with you as you sail with the Mayflower and her pilgrims.
