The Kid’s Guide to MoneyTitle: The Kid’s Guide to Money
Author: Steve Otfinoski
Illustrator: Kelly Kennedy
Publisher: Scholastic, Inc.
Number of Pages: 128

Having trouble getting money? Don’t know which is better, a bank or a stash? If you have any questions about money, The Kid’s Guide to Money answers them! It answered my question about interest, and what a Certificate of Deposit does for you. It’s published by Scholastic - no doubt, this reference is reliable!

This book gives you tips to help you use money wisely and to avoid being tricked by misleading advertisements. I used it to help me shop for video games. If you want to know what other kids think, check out the "Kid Cents" highlights. Also, there are some interesting facts about money in the "Money Moments" sections. Do you know the easy way to figure out the percentages for tips and sale tax?

Mr. Otfinoski wrote this book so 9-year-old kids could understand it. I recommend this book for 9-18 year-olds because there’s also information about working, credit cards, and other things you’ll need to know in the future. All the big words are explained, so the book is easy to understand. But don’t spend all your time reading these 128 pages, just use the index and the chapters you need! After all, everyone has to know something about money. (April, 2003)
