Title:
Oh No! It's Robert!
Author: Barbara Seuling
Illustrator: Paul Brewer
Publisher: Scholastic Inc
Number of Pages: 118
This book is hilarious!
It is about a boy named Robert Dorfman who hates math. He always gets a
"could be neater" stamp on his work. He is also appointed the
library monitor for his classroom library by his teacher.
Paul, who is Roberts's best friend, has crazy ideas for Robert and some of them, as crazy as they are, actually work! Susanne Lee is a perfect, popular, know-it-all who loves to get A's and then brag. She really wants the Best Reader award. She is Robert's worst enemy.
Robert has a problem. There is a person who keeps taking books from the classroom library and scribbling in them. His teacher is counting on him though, so he is trying to find out who did it. Meanwhile, there is a class competition for whoever reads the most books. He is the only person in his family who has not won an award. He really wants the prize, but it takes him about one week to read a book. Then, he has his job as library monitor and finding out the culprit. A hamster book is returned with scribbles. The last person to check that book out was his best friend Paul and it had not had scribbles in it before. Could Paul really be doing the scribbles? I'll let you find that out for yourself!
I enjoyed this book very much. It drew me in and I would not stop reading. I would recommend this book. A similar book is called You Can't Eat Peanuts in Church, which is also by Barbara Seuling. (February, 2005)
