Who needs a boring old science textbook when you can get your hands on a Kingfisher Facts and Records book? Facts and Records: Book of Space is the latest in a series of Kingfisher books can tell you facts and records that your science textbook won't. These books really come in handy if you're studying for a science test or researching a topic like neutron stars. Did you know that the first 10 seconds of a supernova produces more than 100 times the energy that our sun produces in 10 BILLION years?
My copy arrived while our class was studying our solar system and beyond. I found this book's section on black holes really helpful. This manuscript even impressed my science teacher.
Basic science facts are juiced up with creative writing and tons of colorful pictures. You could drown yourself in this amazing but factual book. This outstanding tome covers the planets of our solar system, our galaxy and the whole universe. This text also provides different scientists' opinions about theories such as 'The Big Bang'. I'd highly recommend this book for children in grades 4-12. Even if you don't know a lot about space, you'll be able to understand and learn from this book. (February, 2002)
