Activities:
1. Make a "Soccer Rules!"
collage. Cut out newspaper words, photos or drawings that show something
about soccer.
2. Create a "Good soccer
players'" poster for your room. On the poster, list three skills
you need to develop to become a good soccer player and three personal
qualities you should have.
3. What do Kristine Lilly and
Brad Guzan say about soccer that would make you want to play soccer, too?
Use your ideas to write a paragraph that begins, "I would love to
play soccer because ..."
4. Divide a piece of paper
into three columns. Label the columns "Baseball," "Basketball"
and "Football." In each column, write several ways soccer is
like that sport. Then write several ways soccer is different from that
sport.
5. Write a paragraph explaining how you play a particular sport. Use soccer if you are on a soccer team, or you can use another team sport. Include the following information in your paragraph:
- What skills do you have that help you play well?
- How do you contribute to the team?
- How does your attitude help you play well?
- Why do you like this sport?
