The Mini Page is a syndicated, four-page tabloid written for young children found each Wednesday in The Denver Post. This issue of The Mini Page is available through the eEdition Archive to registered eEdition subscribers. Activities:

1. Draw a picture of a suitcase. Paste newspaper words and pictures for things you would take to camp on your suitcase.

2. Talk with friends. List different ways going to camp would make you a better person.

3. In the newspaper, circle items you would find at a team sports camp in red, a music/drama camp in green, and a swimming camp in blue.

4. Why are these items important at camp: (a) sunscreen, (b) towels, (c) water bottle, and (d) paper/pencil?

5. Write a story about yourself as a counselor helping young campers during their first few days at camp.

Mini Page activities meet many state and national educational standards. Each week we identify standards that relate to The Mini Page content and offer activities that will help your students reach them. This week's standard:

  • Students understand that physical activity provides opportunities for enjoyment, challenge, self-expression and social interaction. (Physical Education)
