Apr. 20, 2011: Our Changing Climate
The Mini Page is a syndicated, four-page tabloid written for young children found each Wednesday in The Denver Post. Activities:
1. Draw a picture of yourself having fun in your favorite weather. Write a sentence telling why it is your favorite.
2. Use newspaper words and pictures to make a weather collage. Put a star by any words/pictures that tell about or show forms of precipitation.
3. In the newspaper, circle any products that use solar energy in red. Circle articles about solar or wind energy in green.
4. What do these things show about climate change: (a) more snow, (b) droughts, (c) polar bears, and (d) floods?
5. Research extreme weather events in your state. Write a history of extreme weather where you live.
