The Mini Page is a syndicated, four-page tabloid written for young children found each Wednesday in The Denver Post. Activities:
1. Paste a newspaper picture on a piece of paper. Pretend it is the cover of a book. Write a title for your book. Write a sentence describing the book.
2. Choose five people in the newspaper. Find a book from today's Mini Page that you would recommend for each of them. Explain your choices.
3. Which books in today's Mini Page are about real people or things? Which newspaper sections would these books fit in?
4. Which books would be good for these classes: (a) social studies, (b) science, (c) art, and (d) physical education?
5. Create a newspaper ad for your favorite book in today's Mini Page.
