The Mini Page is a syndicated, four-page tabloid written for young children found each Wednesday in The Denver Post. Activities:

1. Paste newspaper pictures of flowers into your own "tussie-mussie" on a piece of paper.

2. In the newspaper, circle flower words or pictures that are used to show colors or fragrances.

3. Divide a piece of paper into two columns. In one column, write newspaper words for flowers or plants that are used for decoration. In the other column, list flowers or plants used in cooking.

4. How are these important in the plant world: (a) aroma, (b) nettles, (c) gnats, and (d) petals?

5. Select five of the flower symbols listed in The Mini Page. Assign each flower to a friend, based on that flower's meaning. Explain your choices.
